It takes a lot of time to get to know me
But it takes little to like me
Sometimes i hide my feelings, avoid my feelings
In order not to get judge at or hurt
If you really get to know me and win my trust
U will have won a friendship that lasts for life
I will be loyal, uderstanding, n be there by your side
But if u ever backstab me, if u ever betray me
My heart will be broken and it will take alot to forgive u
But there is one thing that u shouldnt 4get for sure
Is that, If you ever backstab me, if u ever betray me
I can't and will not do anything to hurt u, to get back at u
For i have learned to love u,
And our friendship will have meant more to me than u
If i dont like you, Im not a hyprocrite
I will tell u, or try to get away from u, in order to avoid ur presence
Cause i think honesty is one of the most important things
Just get to know me
And i will show that i can be a really good friend
I'll show you that there are people
Who still can be trusted, who still value friendship

I enjoyed reading this poem. The poet talks about friendship and what elements that constitutes a true friend. According to him/ her, friendship is expressing emotions and love for each other, not being judgmental of the other, being understanding, be loyal and being aware of the other person’s feelings. A poem also goes into what things to avoid if a person wants to maintain a friendship; such as hurting each other, backstabbing, betrayal, and being a hypocrite. I can tell that the individual may have been truly hurt by a close friend, however, is still will to be a true and trusted friend to others.
